Text of decision | To agree to a range of funding to support an initial two year implementation of a joint support initiative to assist young people realise ambition, improve their life skills and health. Council contribution £70,000 per year. The transitions partnership is estimated to cost £100,000 per year and will engage with young people, their families and schools to improve school attainment, health and life skills for those most at risk of poor outcomes in these areas. A ‘life coach’ approach will be the fundamental approach and represents a new and exciting initiative to improve young people’s lives, particularly in relation to health, education and employability. |
Reason for decision | To ensure sufficient pump prime funding is available to allow the project to commence from 1 May 2016. |
