State the Delegated Authority that you are relying on in order to make the decision | |
Subject of decision | Senior Management Review – Director of Children’s Services(DCS)/Director of Adult Social Services (DASS) |
Text of decision | To implement the Senor Management Review, as reported to Council on 6 January 2016, such that the DCS and DASS statutory roles are not the joint responsibility of one individual. |
Reason for decision | There is a clear need to provide a greater resilience and capacity to deliver Adult Social Care and Children’s Services. This change is as a response to a growing demand for services, together with a move towards more integration of Health and Social Care Services. The current DCS/DASS joint role will be split to provide a dedicated DCS and a dedicated DASS function. This will be achieved by creating the Strategic Director, Children’s Services and changing the reporting lines of the Assistant Director, Adult Social Care to the Executive Director, Commercial and Corporate Services, who will take DASS statutory responsibility |
Other options considered (if any) | None applicable that could reduce the scope of the existing DCS/DASS responsibilities. |
Declarations of Interest by any member or relevant local government body | Not applicable. |
