Subject of decision | Statement of Public Task 2018-21 |
Text of decision | Using the general delegated powers as Head of Strategy, Information and Governance to ensure delivery of the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) role, it is agreed that a Statement of Public Task should be adopted. The Statement of Public Task sets out the functions carried out by the Council under the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2015, and enables potential re-users of information produced by the Council to understand whether the information falls within the scope of these Regulations. The approved Statement of Public Task is appended to this decision notice and will be published on the Council’s website today. |
Reason for decision | To make clear what information the Council produces, holds or disseminates falls within the 2015 Regulations, and support supporting the safe re-use of information in order to aid compliance. |
Other options considered (if any) | Do not publish a Statement of Public Task. This option was not recommended as it would result in potential confusion, leading to unnecessary contacts from individuals and organisations seeking permission to re-use Council information. |
