Subject of decision | Review of Carers Resources Allocation System (RAS) Pilot |
Text of decision | To implement the pilot Resource Allocation System as a mainstream offer to carers in Middlesbrough as described in option one of the relevant report; and, Monitor and evaluate outcomes for carers as well as the financial impacts, at the same time maintaining good social work practice in terms of flexible and creative support planning utilising community resources and networks before provisioning services to meet outcomes. |
Reason for decision | To use the pilot carers indicative allocation as the main offer for carers eligible for social care support who live within the Middlesbrough area or have service users living within Middlesbrough but live out of the Middlesbrough area. |
Other options considered (if any) | Option 2 Modify the cares indicative allocation by reducing the amounts of money required to meet carers outcomes on the basis that the pilot identified that most people required a low level of support. The domain F. ‘I am unable to keep a safe and comfortable home.’ This domain is currently allocated £520 per annum could be reduced by half to £260 per annum. This would reduce the maximum allocation to £2,740. |
