Subject of decisionExecutive Members to acknowledge the final terms of the town centre acquisitions, and allow to proceed to exchange and completion.
Text of decisionWithin the report of the 20th December 2019 the Executive endorsed the decision to proceed with town centre acquisition, with initial offers having been accepted. The details of the acquisition were contained within the Part B, of the report. The decision was approved on the basis of detailed terms and conditions being delegated, following further works, such as the building and condition surveys.
Reason for decisionDetails of the strategic and commercial case to acquire town centre property was detailed within Part A of this report. Further details of the property, along with financial information, was contained within Part B of the report.
Detailed negotiation, along with building and condition surveys, has now concluded. This delegated authority seeks approval to conclude negotiation, leading to exchange and completion.
The negotiations have concluded within the parameters set by Executive, and the deal is ready to be concluded on this basis.
As with any major property deal, there may be opportunities to further refine the offer, at the last minute, but only to the Council’s benefit.
Any variations to the agreed price, will be reported to the Executive Members.
