Following the Executive approval on 13th April 2021, the Asset Disposal policy was amended to give delegated authority to Director of Finance, Executive Member for Finance and Governance and the relevant ward councillors to allocate 3% of the sale of an asset which has achieved a disposal above market value for community benefit in the ward in which the asset was based.

Decision:

To award 3% of the sale of an asset (Nunthorpe Farmhouse) for community benefit in the Nunthorpe ward. Funding to be awarded is £20,785.

Following consultation with the existing ward councillors at the point of disposal and the Executive Member for Finance & Governance the Director of Finance has determined that the appropriate utilisation of the funding following community consultation is the following:
Increase of play equipment & outdoor exercise equipment at The Avenue Park detail to be subject to further consultation with local residents.

REASON FOR DECISION

To comply with the Asset Disposal Policy, and provide a direct community benefit to the ward in which the asset is based. To support the community and voluntary sector community, and support vulnerable people in need through enhanced partnership working.
