SCOPE OF PORTFOLIO

The Deputy Mayor will deputise for, and assist the Mayor in the execution of his duties and delivering a performance framework for Executive Members.

 

The Deputy Mayor will be the Lead Member for Children’s Social Care, ensuring that our children are protected, to safeguard their welfare and wherever possible, seek to enable or provide a safe environment that reduces dependency on services, including the most disadvantaged and vulnerable and their families and carers.

 

The Deputy Mayor will also be the Thematic Lead for Drugs and will provide strategic oversight for the issues that drug misuse causes for individuals, communities and public services and businesses, as well as focus on the structure and delivery of drug-related service models.

The Deputy Mayor will deputise for, and assist the Mayor in the execution of his duties and delivering a performance framework for Executive Members.
