Final report of the Adult Social Care and Health Scrutiny Panel: Healthy placemaking with a focus on childhood obesity

The purpose of this report is to present the findings of the Adult Social Care and Health Scrutiny Panel’s 2025 review into Healthy Placemaking with a Focus on Childhood Obesity, undertaken to understand local need, assess current activity and identify opportunities for system wide improvement. The report outlines the evidence gathered across services, summarises the Panel’s conclusions, and sets out the recommendations endorsed by the Overview and Scrutiny Board on 18 March 2026, together with the resulting Action Plan developed by relevant service areas for Executive approval.
