There were no Declarations on Interest received at this point of the meeting.

To consider passing a Resolution excluding the press and public from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that if present there would be disclosure of exempt information falling within paragraphs 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act.

ORDERED that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items on the grounds that, if present, there would be disclosure to them of exempt information as defined in Paragraphs 1 or 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 and that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information.

In accordance with the Officer Employment Procedure Rules, the Chief Officer Appointments Committee was charged with undertaking the process for recruiting to the post of the Executive Director of Children's Services. The Head of Human Resources provided a summary of each of the candidates.

Members agreed the interview process and the questions for the interviews for the post of Executive Director of Children’s Services, scheduled for 3 August 2023.

Following consideration of each of the applications for the post of Executive Director of Children’s Services, it was agreed that four of the candidates should be shortlisted.

The Chief Executive submitted a report, which sought approval for an extension of the current interim arrangement for the Director of Finance (section 151 officer).

ORDERED that the current interim arrangement for the Director of Finance (section 151 officer) be extended to 30 June 2024.

There were no urgent items to be considered.
